The Woods

I lost my heart in the woods

As I walked the paths so often trod.

All my secrets, the trees understood

And the birds all know my song.

The pines have heard my prayers;

My heart poured out to God.

For God is all around us,

He’s my refuge and my strength.

I need no walls or buildings

When my heart to Him must flee.

What better place than Creation,

His remarkable masterpiece

To find joy in His salvation

And relish in His peace.

My Love

If I had a lover
He all my heart would know,
For there is only one other
I, my heart would ever show.

He and I and God,
Could walk and talk and love,
Where feet have never trod;
He my knight and I his dove.

How sweet our song would be,
That even God would smile.
As we make our story
One earth here for a while.

The in Heaven fair
Our God we would praise
For our love down here
Until the end of days.

So patient I will be
In singleness of heart,
‘Til my love finds me.
Then, to never part.

Be Faithful Dear Christian

God sees your struggles,

They’re all in His plan.

He knows your battles,

He’s teaching you to stand.

Though it may be hard and hurtful,

You cannot back down.

This suffering is needful,

You cannot turn around.

“This, too, shall pass…”

And a reward you’ll find

In God’s blessings vast

That will blow your mind!

He knows your heart

And the desires thereof.

So delight in His heart,

And He’ll blow your socks off!

destroying a thousand years of mathematical genius

hannahfarver:

I’m not sure I believe in negative numbers.
If zero is really zero,
that is, nothing,
then how can something be less than nothing?
“Nothing” is the absence of thingness.
How can one be more absent a thing than another?
“We are both nothing, but I am more nothing than you.”
To be more nothing…does that not
make “nothing”
a thing?

Thingness defies zero.
Either you are zero—and absolutely nothing
or very secretly
you are something.
